Caring for our communities
Webster supports a wide range of registered non-profit agencies that serve low- to moderate-income individuals and families throughout our northeast markets and beyond.
Helping a broad set of organizations build a strong and self-reliant community is at the heart of Webster's Corporate Giving program. This includes collaboration with our United Way partners. We focus our Corporate Giving on three program areas:
- Financial Literacy
- Food & Shelter
- Health & Human Services
As a long-term partner, we believe strongly in the broad safety-net of human services provided by United Way and its partner agencies.
Webster has a long history of supporting Junior Achievement and its efforts to deliver K-12 programs that foster work-readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy skills. Our bankers volunteer to teach the JA curriculum at a variety of schools throughout the market.
Mentoring & Volunteerism
Webster's Mentor Program is aligned with our core value of giving of ourselves in the communities we serve. It has grown from a handful of mentors supporting two towns in Connecticut to over 100 mentors supporting communities across Connecticut and into Rhode Island and Massachusetts. The program continues to grow as bankers select mentoring as their way of giving back. We celebrate our partners across New England and encourage mentoring as a way to help build self-reliance in our communities.
Our bankers log more than 130,000 hours each year, volunteering their time and talent to a wide array of programs and organizations.
