We believe that diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) is critical to our growth and success as a leading regional bank. This commitment starts with Webster's senior leadership team, who work to ensure that our commitment to DEI is integrated with the way we do business. Meeting the increasingly diverse needs of our customers is a key to our long-term success, and having a workforce with diverse backgrounds and experiences better helps our customers and the communities we serve achieve their financial goals.

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council is co-chaired by John Ciulla, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, and John Guy, Executive Vice President, Business Banking. The Council serves as the platform where senior leaders and representatives of our various employee resource groups shape the strategy and actions of our DEI efforts. The Council makes recommendations on ways to integrate DEI in the areas of education and awareness, talent development, employee engagement and customer and community service.

Webster proudly supports a host of Employee Resource Groups (ERG) that provides our bankers with an authentic experience of diversity, equity and inclusion. Based on mutual respect and acceptance, these groups recognize and explore our individuality in an environment that fosters personal and professional growth. Through a robust slate of activities and events, we celebrate the rich cultures and lifestyles that make up our workforce while embracing the unique contributions we bring to work each day. Our ERGs include Webster Women’s Initiative Network (WeWIN), PRIDE-LGBTIA+, Multicultural Groups including, African American Heritage, Hispanic Heritage, Asian Heritage, Dis/Ability Employee Network, Veterans Employee Network and Inter-Generational Employee Network.

WeWIN

Webster’s Women’s Initiative Network (WeWIN) aims to empower all women at Webster and provides support for personal and professional growth. This ERG has participants of all genders, including the “Men as Allies” sub-group that aims to promote the important role that men play in creating an environment where women succeed.
