With optional balance alerts, you are in complete control. You can update your alerts at any time and can suspend them temporarily or stop them altogether. This can be accomplished through WebsterOnline; or, if you are receiving alerts via SMS/text, you can simply reply STOP to stop receiving them. Turning off alerts via a mobile device will stop all alerts until they are resumed.
You do not need any special equipment to receive alerts. However, your phone must be capable of receiving SMS/text messages and message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile services carrier for details on data usage plans and service charges.
SMS (Short Message Service) and text messaging are synonymous and are terms used to describe the standard text messaging service component of phone, web, or mobile communication systems.
Account alerts are provided at no cost to you through Webster, however, your wireless service provider or Internet Service Provider may charge a fee for receipt of messages to your mobile device or computer. Check with your mobile service carrier for details on data usage plans and service charges.
There are just a few easy steps to get started. First, you must enroll for optional alerts by accessing the Account Alerts page in WebsterOnline and following the enrollment instructions. Once you enroll, simply review or update your delivery method, choose the account to receive alerts, select the type of alert and establish your balance threshold. Each alert is customizable and can be delivered to your email and/or mobile phone via SMS/text message.
Webster Online Services offers both automatic and optional alerts regarding your account and account transactions. Automatic alerts are sent when certain changes to your account occur, including, but not limited to, password and user name updates or changes to your physical or primary email address. These automatic alerts are sent to your primary email address and are not optional.
In addition to automatic alerts, you have the option in choosing to receive low or high balance alerts delivered by email or text message to a mobile device. You can setup low balance alerts to notify you when your account’s available balance is at or below the target you establish. You can also setup high balance alerts to notify you when your account’s available balance is at or above the target you establish. To manage the quiet hours for alerts, please use your phone's 'Do Not Disturb' settings.
