Regional President for BostonDeb Drapalla is regional president for the Boston region and oversees Webster's business and community affairs activities in the greater Boston area. She is based in Webster's office at 100 Franklin Street in Boston's downtown crossing neighborhood. Deb joined Webster in March 2010 as senior vice president of the middle market lending group. She brings more than 30 years of commercial banking experience to this role. Prior to joining Webster, Deb worked at Bank of America as a senior vice president in their middle market lending group in Boston. Living up to the communities she serves, Deb serves as the co-chair of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Leadership Council, which supports Dana-Farber’s mission of eradicating cancer and providing compassionate patience care; a member of the Advisory Board of the Family Business Association, which provides educational seminars, networking opportunities and recognition for outstanding family businesses; and an active member of the Association of Corporate Growth, sitting on the Women’s Committee Board. She holds a bachelor's degree from Boston University.
Regional President for Southern Massachusetts and Rhode IslandDoug Scala is regional president for Rhode Island-Southeastern Massachusetts market. He joined Webster in 2014 and is responsible for commercial banking activities in the region. Prior to joining Webster, Doug was at an executive at The Hudson Companies, Providence, R.I., for seven years, serving as chief operating officer from 2012-2014. Before that, he had a 20-year career at Bank of America/Fleet Financial Group, most recently as senior credit products manager. Living up to the communities he serves, Doug is vice chairman of the Business Development Company of Rhode Island and president of the Wannamoisett Country Club, Rumford, R.I. Rhode Island. Doug earned his bachelor’s degree from the Lake Forest College and an M.B.A. from George Washington University.
Regional President for Hartford, Connecticut
Tim Bergstrom is regional president for the Hartford, Conn., market. He joined Webster in 1998 and is responsible for Business Banking activities in Connecticut.
Prior to joining Webster, Tim was at Centerbank, where he was a regional manager in the Community Banking Division.
Living up to the communities he serves, Tim is very active in the Hartford and Waterbury region, representing Webster on the board of directors of the Waterbury Regional Chamber, the Waterbury Housing Fund, the United Way of Greater Waterbury, the Palace Theater, the Community Economic Development Fund, and the Community Investment Corp. He also served as campaign chair for the United Way of Greater Waterbury Community Campaign for 2009-2010.
Tim earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut.
Regional President for Waterbury, Connecticut
Mike O’Connor, Esq., is regional president for the Waterbury, Conn., market. He joined Webster in March of 2012 and is responsible for all aspects of the bank’s corporate real estate portfolio consisting of 180 properties and approximately 1.3 million square feet.
Mike has more than 20 years of experience in real estate and construction. Additionally, Mike is retired from the United States Army after serving more than 26 years as an Officer in the Reserves, National Guard and Active Army. Mike was recalled to active duty twice after September 11th. In 2004, Mike served a combat tour in Afghanistan with 3rd Battalion 3rd Special Forces Group Airborne, earning a Bronze Star. In 2011, Mike served on the Army staff, Office of the Judge Advocate General, the Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Living up to the communities he serves, Mike currently is on the board of directors of the Palace Theater, is a member of the Greater Waterbury United Way, and is past chair of the board of directors of the Greater Waterbury YMCA.
Mike earned his bachelor’s degree at High Point College and his JD at Ohio Northern University.
Regional President for Pennsylvania
Scott Meves is regional president for the Pennsylvania market. He joined Webster in August 2014 to oversee Webster’s middle market banking activity in the greater Philadelphia region, continuing the successful geographic expansion of middle market that Webster experienced in Boston, Mass. and Providence, R.I., as well as metro New York City and White Plains, N.Y.
Prior to joining Webster, Scott was at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., where he was senior vice president and group manager. During his 11 years there, he was successful in developing long-term relationships and leading a team of experienced bankers in middle market regional lending and media and communications finance. Before this, Scott was with PNC Bank in Philadelphia.
Living up to the communities he serves, Scott currently is a volunteer with The First Tee of Greater Philadelphia. Previously, he served as treasurer of Lower Gwynedd Little League and as a Big Brother with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Southeastern Pa.
Scott earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Penn State University.
Regional President for Metro New York City
Abby Parsonnet is regional president for metro New York City. She joined Webster in August 2013 to oversee Webster’s middle market banking activity and community affairs in the New York metropolitan area, continuing the successful geographic expansion of middle market that Webster experienced in Boston, Mass., Providence, R.I., and White Plains, N.Y. Her middle market team focuses on commercial banking in the New York metro area which encompasses the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, and Northern New Jersey.
Earlier in her career, Abby was at JP Morgan Chase as senior vice president and regional manager in a variety of roles including national head of remediation and head of the textile, apparel, and jewelry group. She also served as a team leader in middle market and a special credits officer. She has also been a restructuring advisor in the corporate finance practice of FTI Consulting, where she was a senior managing director.
Living up to the communities she serves, Abby is a board member, officer, and founding member of K.I.D.S./Fashion Delivers; a member of the Fashion Service Network; and is active in the ORT America Accounting, Banking, and Attorneys Chapter where she is a past recipient of the Community Achievement Award.
Abby earned her bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University and her MBA from Boston University. She also earned her Certificate in Financial Planning from the New York University School of Continuing Education.
Regional President for Connecticut
Jeff Klaus is regional president for Connecticut for Webster Bank. He brings more than 25 years of industry experience to this position.
Before joining Webster in 2008, Jeff served as senior vice president in Bank of America's business banking division in southern Connecticut and New York. Prior to that, he was the market president in New Haven and New London counties and held various positions at Bank of America and Fleet National Bank, including senior client manager and team leader.
Living up to the communities he serves, Jeff has been a member of number business and not-for-profit agency boards with a particular focus on improving urban public education. These activities led Business New Haven, to name Jeff, “Citizen of the Year” in 2011.
A graduate of Rutgers College, Jeff also has an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
