  • VP, Senior Private Banking Lender
    Robert “Bob” Meditz is a Senior Private Banking Lender based in Boston, MA. He is responsible for loan origination and loan portfolio management in the Boston region, in addition to servicing a portion of the Connecticut portfolio. He will provide tailored credit solutions to high net worth individuals, family offices, and institutional clients. Bob has over 25 years of commercial lending experience, joining Webster Bank in 2000, and the Private Bank in 2019. Prior to that, he served as a Portfolio Manager in the Sponsor & Specialty Finance group, where he underwrote and managed commercial loans in several industry verticals including Cable TV, Radio, Publishing, and Restaurant and Franchise Lending. Prior to joining Webster, he worked at Connecticut National Bank, Bank of Boston Connecticut, Shawmut National Bank, Fleet Bank and Orion Capital Corporation, in various capacities, including Real Estate workout, Insurance and Financial Institutions Lending, Media and Telecommunications Lending, and Corporate Finance. Bob obtained a B.A from St. Lawrence University, a M.Div. from Yale Divinity School, a PhD in Theology from the University of Exeter (UK). He is a published author, and has lectured at area colleges. Bob and his wife Linda lived in Wethersfield, Connecticut for over 30 years, raising three daughters, and they recently re-located to the Boston area, settling in Rockport, MA.

  • Chris O'Connell
    SVP, Regional Market Executive
    Christopher J. (Chris) O’Connell leads Webster’s private banking efforts in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Chris is responsible for building the Boston team of private bankers that will serve the investment management, banking, lending, planning and fiduciary needs of high net worth clients, their families and related charitable entities.  Chris comes to Webster from Boston Private Bank & Trust Company where he was Senior Vice President and Manager of Investment Sales. He has over 25 years of experience in the wealth management industry as both a producer and sales manager. Chris is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and served our nation for six years in the U.S. Army where he completed Airborne, Ranger and Pathfinder training while serving as an infantry officer and earning the rank of Captain. He retired from the Army with the rank of Major in the Army Reserve. A native Bostonian, Chris is a member of the Corporation of Belmont Hill School, a committee member at Winchester Country Club, a director of the Winchester Sports Foundation, and a volunteer at Winchester Hospital. He is a Eucharistic Minister at Saint Mary’s Parish and lives in Winchester, MA with his wife Sue and their three children.

  • Rogean B. Makowski
    SVP, Senior Fiduciary Services Officer
    Rogean Makowski is the Senior Fiduciary Services Officer serving the Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Southeastern Connecticut markets. She specializes in helping individuals, families, and institutions meet their financial needs. She has more than 35 years experience in trust and financial services, with special emphasis in the area of retirement planning and advising multi-generational families. Prior to joining Webster Rogean was at The Washington Trust Company in Westerly, RI where she was senior vice president of Wealth Management Client Services. In that role, she was responsible for the daily management and supervision of the Trust and Estate Division of Washington Trust Wealth Management. She has extensive experience in the Wealth Management Industry and her expertise ranges from client relationship management to wealth planning. A Rhode Island resident, Rogean is a board member of the South County Health VNS, Chair of the Professional Advisory Council of the RI Foundation, past president of the Estate and Tax Planning Councils of RI and Southeast CT, and has received numerous leadership awards. She is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and a graduate of Williams College School of Banking in Massachusetts.

  • Peter M. Gabriel
    SVP, Head of Private Banking
    Peter M. Gabriel heads Webster Private Bank, the division of Webster Bank responsible for serving the banking, lending, investment management, planning and fiduciary needs of high net worth clients, their families and related charitable entities across the entire Webster footprint. Mr. Gabriel has more than 20 years of experience serving the financial needs of high net worth clients. Before joining Webster, he served as Senior Vice President and Wealth Advisor in the Greenwich, CT, office of The Private Bank at Wells Fargo where he was a top producer. In addition, during his tenure there, he served as The Business Bank Channel Coordinator, was a member of the Connecticut leadership team, and managed a Wealth Advisor associate program. Previously, he served as a Private Bank Business Development Officer for Bank of Boston in Stamford, CT, and as a stockbroker for D. Blech & Co. in Boston, MA. A resident of Old Greenwich, CT, he received his bachelor’s degree from Providence College and a Masters of Business Administration in Finance from Sacred Heart University. Peter is a Board Member of the Stamford Center for the Arts and an active volunteer with Junior Achievement, and Old Greenwich Riverside Community youth programs.

  • Eileen Cahill
    SVP, Director of Financial Planning
    As head of Webster Private Bank’s financial planning efforts, Eileen is responsible for the design and creation of financial plans. She works closely with individual clients to understand and analyze their financial and life concerns. Her objective is to create plans that present specific and creative strategies to help her clients achieve their life goals. Eileen believes the true success of any plan lies in its implementation. She collaborates with her clients and their other advisors to ensure all approved recommendations are thoughtfully implemented. Eileen joined Webster Wealth Advisors, an affiliate of Webster Bank, as a Senior Managing Director in November 2008 and became Director of Webster Private Bank’s financial planning team in 2017. She has 35 years of experience in financial planning and investment management, beginning her career in the Personal Financial Management department of E.F. Hutton & Co. in 1982. In 1988, Eileen joined the U.S. Private Banking Division of The Chase Manhattan Bank, NA, and, in 1994, after deciding to relocate to Connecticut, she joined Fleming, Relyea & Cox, Inc. in Stamford and later joined Hynes, Himmelreich, Glennon & Company (HHG) in Darien and Price Financial Group, LLC in Wilton. Eileen received her BBA in finance from Iona College in 1982 and her MBA in finance from Fordham University in 1994. She holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 66 securities registrations. Eileen is a member of the Parish Finance Council of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Wilton and volunteers her time at Malta House in Norwalk.
