Federal stimulus payments are being issued by the US government, with direct deposits starting to be credited as early as Monday, January 4th and others to be sent by check or prepaid debit card. To learn if you have received a direct deposit payment, you can review your Webster Bank account activity online or on our mobile app. The description of the deposit will include the letters “IRS”. The best source for answers to questions about your payment eligibility, amount and date, is the IRS. Please visit IRS.gov.

The Small Business Administration released a much-anticipated, streamlined loan forgiveness application for PPP loans totaling $50,000 or less. Additionally, the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Flexibility Act provides additional flexibility within the forgiveness component of the Act. We encourage our PPP customers to check in regularly at the US Department of Treasury and the SBA for more information.
